PURPOSE: This position is responsible for various windows assembly operations, continuous improvement projects, and absenteeism coverage by performing the following duties:
General Description:
  • Mindset of process improvement and more efficient ways of doing things.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment to include saws and use hand tools as required
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.  Help ensure co-workers are            working safely and following safety requirements
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
  • Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and Standardized Work / Lean Management.
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows. Identify problems and suggest solutions to management  
  • Assist with training and coaching
  • Support and promote a respectful workplace
  • Participate in kaizen events for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management
Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Assist and cover for other workers in different areas as needed
2. Perform housekeeping duties as needed
Qualification and requirements:
·     Dependability/punctuality & able to work overtime hours on Saturday as needed.
·     No performance/attendance discipline warnings
·     Must have knowledge of a minimum of five positions in the line preferred
·     Ability to read a tape measure
·     Must be flexible for continuous improvement work as assigned and company initiatives
·     High school diploma is preferred
·     Ability to read/write in English  
·     Ability to lift 75-100lbs
·     Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods
·     Possess communication, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills
·     Detail oriented
