Description
  • Leads and manages code, regulatory and standard issues related to Andersen enterprise products and services.  Represents and actively influences Andersen enterprise positions on code and regulatory issues at the national, state and local level.  Represents and actively influences Andersen enterprise on select standard setting associations or entities. Works with Andersen Sales Representatives and Customers on code and regulatory conflict resolution. Educates, communicates, and consults with Andersen stakeholders on code and regulatory issues.  Communicates relevant code and regulatory requirements to Andersen enterprise stakeholders.  Provides subject matter expertise to enterprise project teams as necessary. Works with Andersen enterprise functional areas to leverage Andersen enterprise products and services to code and regulatory requirements.
  • In accordance with the company’s strategy, proactively monitor the development and modification of North American codes and regulations identifying those codes, regulations and standards that impact the development, application or use of Andersen products.
  • Monitors and influences the development and modification of codes and regulations through involvement in trade associations, service on committees responsible for code promulgation and participation at code-setting hearings.
  • Represent the company and its strategic interest through involvement in trade and industry associations as well as interactions with national, state and local officials in the United States and Canada.
  • Using knowledge of current and future industry/consumer trends and working alongside key internal stakeholders, provide strategic and tactical guidance in developing the company’s position concerning codes and standards.
  • Identify regulatory compliance labeling requirements and develop/execute a communication strategy for compliance by business units.
  • Work alongside Research, Development and Innovation, Marketing, Sales, Service and legal to support new product development, marketing and sales initiatives. 
  • Communicate code requirements and positions internally and, as required, to channel business partners. 
  • Work with Sales, Service and other enterprise functional areas to address code and regulatory conflicts or business needs.
  • Participate, as a code requirement subject matter expert, in strategic planning, Product Life Management, product improvement and new product introduction activities.
  • Create and maintain code and standards information for the enterprise.
  • Identify and communicate pending code and regulatory activities that could impact Andersen products, application or use.
  • Manage travel and outside professional services costs to stay within functional area budget.
  • Representation and travel with outside associations, standards and regulatory agencies can account for 25% or more of workload.
  • Hold leadership roles in industry associations and organizations.
  • Review collateral literature and website content related to code and regulatory references.
  • Provide technical presentations to visiting customer groups and others.
  • Work with outside consultants and experts to continually analyze the role of fenestration products as part of a system.
  • Provides support to Legal Department on code, regulatory and pertinent historical information related to litigation or other business needs or objectives
  • Manage outside professional services.
  • Provide direction to field sales and service on code and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to enterprise project teams or initiatives





Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering, Governmental Affairs or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant technical experience in product marketing, product development, building code enforcement, architecture or relevant legislative or legal experience.
  • Understand current laws and regulations that affect the use of our products and services.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects of our products and services
