Coordinates and leads all maintenance, repair, and building activities related to facilities management.  Develops and / or leads small and intermediate scope facilities focused projects and contributes on large projects.

  • Leads maintenance, repair, and building operation activities for one or more locations.
  • Manages projects of small to medium scale and acts as a key contributor on larger projects.
  • Develops concepts to satisfy customer needs and guides decision-making to arrive at a practical solution.
  • Assignments include a variety of Project Management tasks, which might involve variability, the acceptance of primary responsibility and working as a member or leader of cross-functional teams.
  • Develops project objectives, scope and project plans in consultation with internal and external resources.  This includes the ability to identify resources necessary to meet project deliverables, work with suppliers, and monitor progress.
  • Able to define problems and develop practical solutions.  Uses established techniques to systematically analyze and recommend solutions.  (Root Cause Analysis, Project Management Methodologies, etc.). 
  • Evaluates the ability to balance a broad range of organizational needs with appropriate attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.
  • Documents preventive maintenance procedures and standardized work for facilities maintenance.
  • Collaborates with various individuals and/or cross-functional teams across the organization, as well as external service providers.
  • Set specifications and coordinate arrangements for all support activities.
  • Develops and manages contracts independently, with occasional supervisor review.
  • Develops and presents reports, project plans, etc.  Is able to summarize analysis of work and business case to peer group and leadership
  • Indirect and direct coordination of contractors and maintenance staff
  • Coach, guide and train less experienced staff on technical issues in multiple work areas
  • Independently completes tasks within area of responsibility, including coordinating activities outside the immediate work area and proactively changing personal priorities to carry out assignments.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of internal and external customers and contacts.  Independently communicates with business partners to resolve problems.

  • Develops business cases and writes capital expenditures requests for supervisor approval
  • 4 year Degree related to Facilities or Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in facilities project management or facilities management.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge, skills and abilities to a variety of assignments within a moderate to advanced range of difficulty.
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies
  • Budgeting experience related to projects and facility operations & maintenance
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all departments (Indirect influencing skills)
  • Tolerance for ambiguity
  • Basic knowledge of service and construction agreements
  • Has strong CAD knowledge and skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of building codes and other pertinent regulatory requirements governing facility operation & design.
  • Possesses knowledge across a variety of Facilities Management practices.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of manufacturing
