Description

Responsible for warranty replacements and site visits related to glass replacement, sash and balance replacements, seal failures, operational issues, hardware replacements and drafty windows.

 

Promotes excellent long-term customer business relations fostering Value-Added’ proposition combined with long-term workmanship, while representing Andersen in a superior professional manner.
Must maintain a professional image while completing repairs, adjustments and replacements in a timely manner.
Travels to assigned service areas via vehicle or airplane. (If driving, the driver must have a valid state issued driver’s license with no serious moving violations.)
Maintains high standards of dependability excellence, including but not limited to: Satisfactory Attendance Levels, and an ‘above average’ safety and performance evaluation records.
Possesses working knowledge of all applicable safety procedures and conscientiously engages safe work practices in all work activities, including but not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment, Fall Protection.
Presents a professional businesslike image as a manufacturer representative of Andersen.
Dismantles and replaces windows and doors in a customer setting, respectful of the customer’s environment. 
Climbs and performs work activities while suspended from ladders/scaffolding or other lift-devices.
Ability to maneuver/operate a JBG-Boom Lift
Carries tools, product and miscellaneous other parts to / from the worksite and during the course of work.
Lifts/maneuver materials and products up to 70 lbs., independently; and to lift/maneuver materials/products weighing more than 70 lbs. by enlisting other associates for assistance.
Repairs windows / doors and installs replacement parts and product on the jobsite independently or as part of a team, as necessary.
Completes documentation accurately and promptly (ex, Expense Reports, Job Assessments, Hours, Travel Advance). Must return completed paperwork of assigned tasks in an accurate manner.
Must possess the ability to assess construction issues as they relate to the installation and performance of our window and doors.
Must demonstrate an ability to tactfully handle difficult situations with the customers and other company employees.
Must have knowledge and skills in window and door installation.
Authorizes and makes field decisions as to the extent of repair or replacement necessary.
Adheres to all Department of Transportation ‘Rules of the Road’, including, but not limited to observing posted signs and speed limits.
Adheres to all Andersen Window and Door policies and procedures.
Maintains proper vehicle and equipment maintenance (i.e., returning company property in the condition in which received).

Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Minimum education requirement: high school diploma

3 years experience in window industry or construction field

Ability to lift heavy loads and work on ladders

Basic knowledge of construction techniques

Basic math skills

Diagnostic skills: assessment, problem solving and decision making

Ability to work independently and as a team member on multi-technician service runs

Communication skills: verbal and written communication with homeowners, job supervisors and co-workers

Ability to maintain perspective under demanding conditions, handle conflict in tactful manner
